Vic SES swiftwater rescue training at Lake Eildon

I was invited to join volunteers of the Victorian State Emergency Service at Eildon (Victoria) in January this year.

A select group from around the state were chosen to participate in a specialist course taught by South Australian SES members.

The course focuses on the skills both in the water and on the bank. These volunteers will be the first Vic SES members to be trained in swiftwater rescue operations.

Currently in Victoria, Police are the agency in charge of swiftwater rescue.
